Boca Raton Cosmetic Dentistry

While Cosmetic Dentistry is not a recognized field of study by the American Dental Association and the Florida Board of Dentistry, it is a term that describes dentists who refer to themselves as Cosmetic Dentists.

Cosmetic Dentistry Requires Specialized Training in Several Areas of Practice

Dr. Markowitz has completed three levels of training at the Rosenthal Institute and Aesthetic Advantage, Inc. He received a Masters Level of Achievement in Aesthetic Dentistry.  The focus of his training was to create beautiful smiles that would function and look great for years. Porcelain or ceramic crowns and veneers (laminates) were emphasized with a strong correlation with function and occlusion.

Invisalign Braces

Invisalign Braces is another Cosmetic Dentistry technique to achieving beautiful and functional teeth. Dr. Alan Markowitz is a preferred provider for Invisalign which is based on his course level with Align Technologies as well as the number of completed Invisalign patients.

Composite Fillings

Another aspect of Cosmetic Dentistry is Bonded restorations or Composite fillings. These are restorations that restore teeth to their natural color. Bonded restorations can either be made from composite (fillings) or porcelain. Porcelain restorations are the most natural and durable materials that are used to restore teeth and include crowns, inlays or onlays, veneers and bridges. Dr. Markowitz uses a cad/cam technology called CEREC ( Chair side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic). This advanced dental technology can make a  ceramic or porcelain crown  as well as veneers, inlays and onlays in one visit. Dr. Markowitz has completed extensive training in Cad/Cam dentistry and has mastered the use of CEREC in porcelain/ceramic cosmetic dentistry.

Tooth Whitening

Other aspects of Cosmetic Dentistry which include tooth whitening or tooth bleaching and gum re-contouring.
